REVIEWS: Don't Breathe, The Hollars, & Southside With You

Don't Breathe: "Alvarez’s mean-spirited brand of horror is fearlessly gruesome, that doesn’t make it satisfying — or even all that scary."

Southside With You: "stumbles like so many could-be great biopics, by being overly reverential to its subjects. The film refuses to treat its characters as people, preferring precious prototypes of the Michelle and Barack we know."

The Hollars: Though he’s collected a pretty stellar ensemble, Krasinski’s execution lacks nuance, leaning hard into theatrical performances that undercut big emotional beats.
